Success

Well, success in as much as Dad seems to have had a lucky escape! Cheating death more times than I care to remember, he’s been discharged fully for a couple of days now. Last week was half term, and they allowed him out of the hospital for a couple of nights whilst I was there. It’s going to take months until he’s well again (he can hardly walk and certainly can’t get upstairs) but we’re just grateful to have him still!
When I returned last week, it was only a few hours before heading back up the motorway to the midlands as Tom’s mum had a new liver ready to be transplanted. That’s gone really well, and she’ll be out next week. And my first book, “Review of Intensive Care Relative’s Rooms” is to be published shortly. Worcestershire Royal loses out to Birmingham QE due to lack of comfy sofas.

Easy like Sunday evening

The housewarming was good, got to catch up with some old mates. Esther almost came to blows with her mate’s boyfriend – that was fun. Watched some touring cars with Nic today, drove back, enjoyed the sun in the garden… Pretty stress free really. Hope the traffic tomorrow is just as lovely.

Brown… Why?

I’m hanging around at Nic and Esther’s very nice new house before their flatwarming begins shortly. Massive garden is great. And massive. Seriously big. BBQ later. But why do people choose brown as a colour for bathrooms? Obviously they just inherited it but I hope it goes soon. Seriously… Ewwwww!

Knackererered

Took almost 5 hours today to drive from my home in East London to my parents’ in Worcester (not too far from Birmingham, West Midlands). It usually takes a little over 2 hours. Added to the fact it’s been the hottest day of the year so far, I didn’t arrive in the happiest of moods! I decided against joining the M1 motorway as there were emergency roadworks, but instead ended up waiting for the police to clear a shed load of spiky metal thingies lying over the M40. That was after escaping the M25 (AKA largest car park in Europe). Anyway, got here eventually where Mum cooked me a typically massive dinner that I couldn’t finish. Then this evening I heard her use the word “crap” and found out that Carol Vorderman is quitting the popular Channel 4 quiz Countdown. So this may be my last blog before the world implodes. Pic is Rosie dog.
